A fast, semi-analytical model for the Venusian binary cloud system

چکیده

ABSTRACT The Venusian clouds originate from the binary condensation of H2SO4 and H2O. two components strongly interact with each other via chemistry cloud formation. Previous works adopted sophisticated microphysical approaches to understand clouds. Here, we show that observed vapour distributions on Venus can be well explained by a semi-analytical model. Our model assumes local thermodynamical equilibrium for water but not sulphuric acid vapour, includes feedback acidity distributions. predicts strong supersaturation above 60 km, consistent our recent is 100 times faster than 1000 models. This allows us quickly explore large parameter space gas-cloud system. We found mass loading in upper has an opposite response lower mixing ratios atmosphere. transport influences all layers, while only dominates fast enough coupled climate models cloudy atmospheres Venus-like extra-solar planets.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

A risk model for cloud processes

Traditionally, risk assessment consists of evaluating the probability of "feared events", corresponding to known threats and attacks, as well as these events' severity, corresponding to their impact on one or more stakeholders. Assessing risks of cloud-based processes is particularly difficult due to lack of historical data on attacks, which has prevented frequency-based identification...

A semi-analytical model for velocity profile at wind turbine wake using blade element momentum

The shape of wake behind a wind turbine is normally assumed to have a hat shape for the models used in wind farm layout optimization purposes; however, it is know from experimental tests and numerical simulations that this is not a real assumption. In reality, the results of actual measurements and detailed numerical simulation show that the velocity in wake region has a S-shape profile. Th...

The SCIAMACHY cloud products derived using the semi-analytical cloud retrieval algorithm

The paper is aimed to the presentation of the semi-analytical cloud retrieval algorithm developed at Bremen University. The algorithm is capable to derive the cloud top height using SCIAMACHY measurements in the oxygen A-band. The cloud optical thickness is derived from measurements outside gaseous absorption bands. The notion of the phase index is introduced and used to identify ice clouds. SC...
